[UPI News] – ISTANBUL, Turkey, July 6 (UPI) — About 3,000 protesters tried to enter Taksim Square in Istanbul Saturday but were stopped by police with water cannons and tear gas.The protesters were planning to march through the square to Gezi Park, the BBC reported. The area has been the site of large demonstrations for several weeks.
